A crash of couplers brings us to Bedell where cars are being lifted on a hot August afternoon. The Cicadas buzz lazily in the distance, a counterpoint to the slow movements playing out on the steel rails. |

Radio chatter from Smiths Falls and the Toronto RTC precede the passage of a freight by Bedell. Numerous flat spots add dimension to the clickety-clack, but as the detector declares, all is well. A SOO SD-40 moves slowly into the scene to set-off sodium chlorate for the paper plant in Gatineau. |
